So, guys... Is it too late now to say Merry Christmas? Oh, I'm still going to say it anyway. Merry Christmas everyone! May the peace and blessings of Christmas be yours~ and I'm so ashamed to state that I just failed my Blogmas challenge this year... I only made 6 out of 25 posts. What a shame. I'm so sorry for being busy and lazy. When I want to post something, I'm too busy to do it. And when I'm in my free time, I'm too lazy to do it. Do you think I should try the challenge again next year? Let me know xD
Instead of a Christmassy post, as stated in the title, I'll review Fall 2015 animes since most of them has finished the series recently (I know that this kind of post is very uncommon, you may skip reading this post if you're not interested because this will be a very long post. I'll back with instagram highlights soon after this post :D). During the season, I watched 6 titles; Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry, Owari no Seraph: Nagoya Kessen-hen, Taimadou Gakuen 35 Shiken Shoutai, Gakusen Toshi Asterisk, Noragami Aragoto, and Ore ga Ojousama Gakkou ni Shomin Sample Toshite "Gets" Sareta Ken (or simply as known as Shomin Sample). I actually watched Diabolik Lovers: More, Blood too, but it gets boring in the middle so I stopped watching it. Besides, here we go with the review~
Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry
English: Chivalry of a Failed Knight, A Tale of Worst One
Genre: Action, Ecchi, Fantasy, Romance, School
The "school sword action" story revolves around Magic Knights, modern magic-users who fight with weapons converted from their souls. Ikki Kurogane goes to a school for these Magic Knights, but he is the "Failed Knight" or "Worst One" who is failing because he has no magical skills. However, one day, he is challenged to a duel by Stella, a foreign princess and the "Number One" student. In this duel, "the loser must be obedient for life."
Well, I must say this is another typical anime where the boy and the girl didn't get along at first, then they fell in love each other. But I also must admit that this is one of my favorite anime during the season. I like this anime which I love romance genre so much (it's so cute to see happy couple together~) and this couple, Ikki Kurogane and Stella Vermillion are so cute being together! I also like the character design. Although girls with pink twintails are so mainstream, I like Stella's tsundere (kind of dishonest) personality. Sometimes it's annoying but sometimes it's cute as well~ I would recommend this anime to those who loves romance genre like me. And fyi, it's not a boring love story because there are also awesome fight scenes.
Do I expect the second season?
Gakusen Toshi Asterisk
English: The Asterisk War: The Academy City on the Water
Genre: Action, Comedy, Ecchi, Fantasy, Harem, Romance, School, Sci-Fi, Supernatural
The Academy City on the water, Rikka (otherwise known as Asterisk) is the world's largest stage for the integrated battle entertainment, "Star Wars Festival." The young boys and girls of the "Starpulse Generation" belonging to the six academies made their wishes with Shining Armaments in their hands, vying for supremacy—Amagiri Ayato is one of them. Ayato arrived at Rikka at the invitation of the Student Council President of the Seidoukan Academy, Claudia, and right after that he incurred the wrath of the "Petalblaze Witch" Julis, and ended up having to duel her. The greatest academy battle entertainment, begins here!
Another tsundere pink haired heroine. The story is interesting, *SPOILER* that the hero, Ayato Amagiri, can only use his power for a few minutes because of her sister's 'curse' and now her sister, the only who can repeal the curse is missing after the Phoenix Festa (kind of fighting tournament). I really want to know about it but I got no clue what actually happened to her until the end of the season. The characters are cute, also! There's a girl named Sasamiya Saya, Ayato's childhood friend, who uses a big bazooka (kind of big gun, I don't really know what it is) to fight her opponent... Another proof of the "don't judge a book from its cover" quote xD overall, I think this one's a good anime. Still worth the watch~ (P.S: The OP song is soooo good!)
Do I expect the second season?
So-so. But I think a second season is possible. There's still many mysteries needed to be solved.
English: Noragami Aragoto
Genre: Action, Adventure, Shounen, Supernatural
In the second season of Noragami the main focus is on Bishamon, god of war. She has many shinki due to her being unable to abandon spirits attacked by Ayakashi. She has a large group of shinki with her as leader, causing her trouble as she sometimes cannot tend to all of them properly, especially when one of them gets sick or is in pain. She has a strong hate for Yato, as a dark past binds the two of them. How will the horrifying events dated hundreds of years ago in combination with current evil happenings affect Yato and Yukine?
First of all, I would like to say that I proudly recommend this anime to whoever you are. This anime is amazing. It totally worth the A+. As stated on the synopsis, this is the second season of Noragami (make sure you watch it too if you're going to watch Noragami Aragoto!). I was a big fan of the prequel, too! This anime is soooo amazing! Everytime each episode ends, I will be like: "OMG OMG OMG WHYYYY YOU SHOULD STOP HERE U FRIGGIN' EPISODE" lol but it's true! Noragami actually tells a story about an unknown god named Yato with Yukine, his shinki/regalia (kind of servant but not servant, just watchhh) that make friend with Hiyori Iki, a human. I won't be a bad person to blabber anything about it more. You just need to watch it to know more. I guarantee you won't regret it~ and the special thing about Noragami series is that both OP and ED songs are always good xD
Do I expect the third season?
Taimadou Gakuen 35 Shiken Shoutai
English: AntiMagic Academy 35th Test Platoon
Genre: Action, Ecchi, Fantasy, Harem, Military, Romance, Supernatural
The 35th Test Platoon of Antimagic Academy is one of the squads enrolled at an academy specializing in raising the witch hunters, whose job is to find and neutralize any magical threats! Unfortunately, they're a group of failures nicknamed the "Small Fry Platoon", a platoon formed from a bunch of self-centered people who have personality problems and can't cooperate. Will they manage to overcome their weaknesses and shine as the strongest platoon?
My first impression of this anime is "oh, another typical harem anime". A male who is kind and brave surrounded by girls that adore him. So, the hero is Takeru Kusanagi, a captain of a 'failed' squad in an anti-magic academy that trains inquisitors. The rest of squad members are girls with vary personalities. But as I approaching the last few episodes, this anime become so touching yet pretty impressive. It's Takeru's little sister named Kiseki Kusanagi *SPOILER* that possess a very strong magical power that might destroy the entire world. She's captured by the academy and arrested for a long time in order to kill the thing inside Kiseki (the thing that actually possess the powerful strength) but they never got the chance to do it because Kiseki's can't be killed except if she vigorously wants to die. I have compassion for Kiseki since she's actually a shy, cute little girl that loves her older brother so much. All she ever wanted is to be with her older brother, but his oddity prohibits her to be with Takeru :( oh, my favorite female character in this anime is Lapis, Takeru's relic eater. She's so cute and her flat expression while stating everything is so funny xD
Do I expect the second season?
So-so, but I think I kinda want it. I want to know how the Kiseki tragedy will actually ends.
Owari no Seraph: Nagoya Kessen-hen
English: Seraph of the End: Battle in Nagoya
Genre: Drama, Shounen, Supernatural, Vampire
Yuuichirou has reunited with Mikaela at the Shinjuku Battle. But Mikaela was turned into a vampire... To save the "family," and to protect his fellow members, Yuuichirou needed to gain knowledge and power. He searched for ways to bring back vampire to human beings, and at the same time, trained hard working on the Cursed Gear. Meanwhile, Kureto calls Guren and tells him a shocking truth. That in one month, the main unit of the vampire will start attacking Tokyo. To get a head start against vampires, Kureto orders Guren to go to Nagoya. The noble extermination mission is about to open fire!
Another favorite anime of the season! And yes, it's a sequel of Owari no Seraph. This is a story about a family being separated for years, a story of Yuuichiro and Mikaela Hyakuya. They are actually orphans that were captured by the vampires as livestock. One day, they made an attempt to escape, but only Yuu got the chance to get outside of the restriction. Mikaela get captured and turned into vampire. And so the actual drama begin; Yuu trying to save Mika from the vampires, and Mika trying to save Yuu from the humans. To be honest, I admit that you might get bored of Yuu being stubborn although it's for the sake of his family and friends. Yuuichiro Hyakuya is the most stubborn character I ever know. And the best thing of this anime is Mikaela Hyakuya. His messy blonde hair, his lovely blue eyes, everything. He's so motivated once it's about protecting Yuu. He's also so strong yet so weak at the same time. I really really really deplore the truth that Mika's eyes has turned red. It's all Yuu's fault. But it's always a pleasure to have them reunited! Heartwarming, and provoke fujoshi souls (the thrust of supporting boys love) to be awaken lol. I recommend this anime to whoever you are. Please. You need to watch this xD (P.S: To be very honest, I actually kinda disappointed with the ending of this season. It's too anticlimactic to end such a good story. But still, I'm looking forward the next season ;D).
Do I expect the third season?
Ore ga Ojousama Gakkou ni "Shomin Sample" Toshite Gets♥Sareta Ken
English: Shomin Sample
Genre: Comedy, Ecchi, Harem, Romance, School
In a hidden school surrounded by mountains, young ladies of good families are taught everything a high class lady needs to know. They are also completely cut off from the outside world, keeping them sheltered and innocent; however, a problem has come up recently—more and more graduates are failing to cope with the modern world after graduation. To deal with this problem, they've decided to kidnap a male commoner student, and enroll him as a student. They hope that this will be a gentle way to introduce the girls to the outside world. Kagurazaka Kimito is chosen for this dubious honor, mostly because he seems utterly average; however, the school leaders also seem to have concluded he's a homosexual with a muscle fetish. When Kimito hears that the alternative may be castration (to protect the girls' purity), he eagerly plays along with this misconception. Now he'll just have to survive the attention of many high class young ladies that are completely out of touch with the world!
The longest title of the season. Well, to be honest, this is somewhat an obscure comedy anime. But sometimes obscurity is needed in comedy animes, isn't it? The hero is Kimito Kagurazaka, who must be the luckiest guy ever to enter a girl academy with high class ladies as the only male. He's chosen as the "shomin sample" which means commoner sample. It's funny how the girls has a very, very, very good manner which makes them don't know everything about the actual world. When Kimito first enters the school, the girls starts whispering "oh that's a commoner" "wow he's a commoner" "look, a commoner!" as he walks along the corridor. When Kimito eats a ramen cup, they be like "wow this is commoner's food" "how interesting" "I'm so lucky to taste this interesting commoner's food" and I be like looooooool how the hell they live for years and thinks that ramen cup is a special food? I laugh a lot while watching this anime. The best thing in the anime is Hakua, that little cute girl with blue hair. She's so cute! She's kind of reminding me of Lapis (Taimadou Gakuen 35 Shiken Shoutai). These girls are so cute, sooo pure. I think I have a thing about girls with flat expression lol xD
Do I expect the second season?
So-so, but it's okay for me if there's no second season for this anime.
Overall, I think the Fall 2015 animes are good, especially the six I watched during the season. Despite that, there are also animes of the season that I haven't watch but I'm looking forward to it. For example; One Punch Man and Osomatsu-san. Based on the reviews I read, there are so many positive responses to One Punch Man. I think I gotta spend the rest of my holiday to watch the entire series! I also can't wait for the next season animes. I saw some trailers and most of them are nice for first impression~ by the way, if you're asking me a list of them based on my most to least favorite, this will do:
- Noragami Aragoto
- Owari no Seraph: Nagoya Kessen-hen
- Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry
- Taimadou Gakuen 35 Shiken Shoutai
- Gakusen Toshi Asterisk
- Ore ga Ojousama Gakkou ni "Shomin Sample" Toshite Gets♥Sareta Ken
I think that's all for today~ I'll be back with December instagram highlights soon (probably next week). Make sure you'll be here to check it out. Thanks for reading, see you next post xx
(28 Dec 2015)
One Punch Man
English: One-Punch Man
Genre: Action, Comedy, Parody, Sci-Fi, Seinen, Super Power, Supernatural
In this new action-comedy, everything about a young man named Saitama screams "AVERAGE," from his lifeless expression, to his bald head, to his unimpressive physique. However, this average-looking fellow doesn't have your average problem... He's actually a superhero that's looking for tough opponents! The problem is, every time he finds a promising candidate he beats the snot out of them in one punch. Can Saitama finally find an evil villain strong enough to challenge him? Follow Saitama through his hilarious romps as he searches for new bad guys to challenge!
I finished watch One Punch Man today (I started watching it since yesterday) and it was a very good anime! NO REGRETS! Once I started, I feel like I can't stop watching it~ it's a light series that don't give you a lot of thing to think about. It's so fun to watch it! I also love the story concept about a person who can beat his opponent with only one punch, yet has a very humble personality. Both Saitama and Genos are so funny in their own way (especially their plainness lol). There are so many unique characters, too. My favorite side characters are Mumen Rider (I respect him so much that he really chooses to become a hero to actually protect and help people with all his might) and Puri Puri Prisoner (his gayness really made me laugh so hard xD). I'm kinda grateful I watched it when the series already ended so I don't have to wait a week for each episode.
Do I expect the second season?
I'm so excited to see a second season of this story! :D
P.S: Do you like the cute pixel graphics I added in this post? Let me know!
