Minions is the newly released movie (on June 17, 2015 in Indonesia) which tells a story about the minions before they met Gru (just in case you don't know, in their previous series, Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2, they already work for a villain named Gru). So, these brave minions, Kevin, Stuart, and Bob, they left their tribe to look for new villain as their new boss. They arrived at New York and found out an event called 'Villain-Con' in Orlando which is the best place to accomplish their mission. In Villain-Con, they met many interesting villains, but the greatest one was Scarlet Overkill. By accident, they got the job to work for Scarlet and their first mission is to steal Queen Elizabeth's crown. Many things happened; that misconception happened and Scarlet turned from a boss into an enemy, Bob became a king of England, and many more until they finally met Gru!
I watched this movie with my mother and sister last week. Of course, this movie made me laugh a lot. Their cute attitude and innocence is so hilarious! These three minions has different character. Kevin, the tallest with two eyes. He was the pioneer of their trip to the city. He always tries to be the wisest of them all. Leading the way and decide what to do. But however, he is the smartest yet the smart-ass. Stuart is the one-eyed eccentric minion. He always brings his ukulele with him and he likes to flirt to those yellow fire-hydrants in the city. And here comes the cutest one, Bob! He's the shortest one with no hair and two eyes. He's the kindest, the most innocent in the trio. He always brings his teddy, Tim, with him and very curious to everything.
In my opinion, this movie is a little disappointing. Compared to the previous one, Despicable Me 2, this movie is lacking of something I don't know... (rasanya kurang greget aja gitu). I still prefer the previous movies than this one. But it's okay! Also, it's undeniable that as this movie got released in Indonesia, it seems like everything's got yellow and blue and stores starting to sell everything minions' themed. For example, McDonalds. In Indonesia (I think they already done this too in other countries too), they sell this limited edition banana McFlurry with minion cup. They're selling minion toys with Happy Meals, too!
I'm surely craving for that banana McFlurry with oreo crumbs! But I still haven't managed to come to McDonalds. Once I had the chance, it's in the morning and McDonalds are still closed because Muslims in Indonesia is doing their fasting now (most of fast-food restaurants are closed because of this, including McDonalds and KFC).
In the credits, there are some additional scenes of little Gru and the minions. They're so cute!! It's pretty weird that those minions are dedicating their lives to work for villains, but they're so friendly and adorable! Last but not least, this movie is very recommended for those minion addicts!
